Built in the 16th century, it combines Renaissance style with Gothic elements. The façade features medallions of the different Archbishops of Valencia, highlighting the town’s historical significance.

 

Archbishop’s Palace

The Archbishop’s Palace of Villar del Arzobispo, of Gothic-Renaissance style, was constructed between the 14th and 17th centuries. This historic building served as the summer residence of the Archbishops of Valencia until the Mendizábal confiscations. Notable features include its staircase, where tombstones from the ancient Roman cemetery have been preserved, and the main entrance, which displays the Coat of Arms of the House of Austria carved in black stone from Alcublas.

 

Hermitage of San Vicente

The Hermitage of San Vicente, in late Gothic style (15th–17th centuries), is another of Villar del Arzobispo’s most visited historic sites. According to tradition, it was built in honor of Saint Vincent Ferrer, who, according to legend, made a spring gush forth after asking the locals whether they preferred river water or a fountain.
